More than two years after his speech about coming out as gay, Evan Young’s message is still resonating.
Actor Ashton Kutcher recently posted a video to his Facebook page of Young’s 2015 speech at Out Boulder, an mention that initially was rejected by Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont.
“We can conflict with each other and still respect each other,” Kutcher wrote in his June 17 post, quoting part of Young’s speech.
The video has been viewed more than 10 million times and has been shared more that 70,000 times.
Young was the valedictorian of his class of about 30 students at Twin Peaks Charter Academy in 2015, with a 4.5 GPA and scholarship to Rutgers University. He was denied the opportunity at the last minute to give his speech — or be honored in any way — at his school’s graduation ceremony.
He later gave the speech at an Out Boulder event.
The incident caught the attention of U.S. Rep. Jared Polis and prompted an investigation.

Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher was recently featured on TV show Conan to talk about the finale of his exhibit Two and a Half Men alongside his co-star Jon Cryer.
While on the show the fact that Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer once shared a kiss onscreen came up.
The 37-year-old actor explained to Conan, “Jon’s my second male kiss on screen. My first one was in Dude, Where’s My Car? Here’s the thing… if you want to recognize if you’re not male lover, kiss a dude. If you feel nothing, you know. It was weird because he had a little stubble, and now I understand the issue with the stubble. It’s a little scratchy and itchy.”
