    Happy PRIDE St. Catharines!

    30 May Happy PRIDE St. Catharines!

    Yesterday, I had the excellent pleasure of speaking at the City of St. Catharines Pride Flag Raising.  As the City&#;s first openly gay councillor &#; it was a very special and humbling experience.

    At the flag raising the City presented a $ cheque to PRIDE Niagara to support all the PRIDE events &#; the FIRST for any municipality in the Niagara Region.  Thank you to Mayor Siscoe, our Senior Management Team and our Economic Development Team for performing the City of St. Catharines commitment to entity a City that welcomes and supports the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

    This is what I said.

    &#;I would like to thank Enzo, Darryl and the entire PRIDE Niagara family for being fabulously you.  You have brought PRIDE and joy to Niagara.

    Thank you for inviting me to speak &#; it is an honour to be here today.

    I have been thinking a lot about what to say as we assemble to raise the Self-acceptance flag at city hall.

    I’ve always said that who I love is probably the least interesting thing about me &#; unless of course you’ve met Janice &#; especially if you’ve seen her jazz hands.

    Yet who I passion is something that when I meet new people &#;

      Gay dating in St. Catharines

      A quiet city where miniature businesses thrive, St. Catharines does not have a vibrant LGBT scene or many activists. However, it is still considered a very liberal location by North American standards. While not the best region to look for gainful employment, it is growing rapidly with massive investments from the government.

      Some neighborhoods may be more welcoming than others when it comes to living side-by-side with members of the LGBT community. Merriton and Fitzgerald come to thought as some of the most progressive. Living as gay in St. Catharines, Ontario, is a distinct experience depending on where you live, but it is rarely a negative one.
