Before this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” ballroom pro Witney Carson didn’t know who Danny Amendola was.

“I remember calling my brother and saying, ‘Yeah, I have some football player, his name is Danny Amen-something?’ And he was just like, ‘Are you serious, Witney?’” she told HuffPost in a recent interview. “They were all just losing their minds.”

One thing she did know about getting matched with the onetime Fresh England Patriots wide receiver on the reality sway competition show: It helps to have an athlete.

“They have a great route record on the show,” Carson said of the athletes who have competed for the mirrorball trophy. “Their commitment and labor ethic is so superb . And that’s true to Danny. He’s very, very committed, he works extremely hard.”

Amendola, a two-time Super Bowl champ, isn’t the only athlete who’s made it far this season. Reaching the semifinals with him are gymnast Steven Nedoroscik and rugby player Ilona Maher, along with actor Chandler Kinney and former “Bachelor” Joey Graziadei.

Witney looked away, saying, "Oh," while Julianne answered his flirtation more directly. "Oh, is that an invitation?" she said, before laughing. "Let's get your scores!"

Former NFL player Danny Amendola is sparking romance rumors with an influencer 15 years younger than him. 

The retired Patriots star was spotted at his former teammate Tom Brady's Hall of Fame induction with Sports Illustrated model, Alexandra 'Xandra' Pohl, Wednesday night. 

An Instagram Story posted by Julian Edelman showed the 38-year-old former athlete sat beside the 23-year-old at a table with Rob Gronkowski, his girlfriend Camille Kostek, and other A-list guests. 

Xandra, who made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut last month, posed for a selfie with Kostek, who is a fellow SI model.

Danny Amendola is throwing a flag on this rumor.

After the New England Patriots alum was supported by pal Xandra Pohl during a taping of Dancing with the Stars last week, he shut down any brewing romance between the pair.

“Xandra is a great friend of mine,” Danny told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview Sept. 24. “I’m a huge fan and supporter of her and it’s good to have a friend fancy her.”
