Is dante and aristotle gay
By Maggie Packard
As someone who almost exclusively reads youthful adult literature, I possess read my fair divide of coming-of-age novels. Some of the more generic books pretty much fuse together, and if you asked me to depict the plot of some of them, I probably could not tell you. However, every so often one book stands out. Some of the books that struck me the most were The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Selection,The Catcher in the Rye, and The Outsiders. But the fresh adult novel that I found the most unforgettable, touching, and impactful was Aristotle and Dante Uncover the Secrets of the Universe. I see many parallels between the themes of loneliness, friendship, and family in both Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Cosmos and If I Ever Get Out of Here and the themes of sexual (and also gay) awakening between Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and The Miseducation of Cameron Post.
At the beginning of Aristotle and Dante Find the Secrets of the Universe, the main personality, Ari, is friendless and lonely, much like Lewis at the beginning of If I hinterland-daisies-deactivated2 asked: About Aristotle and Dante!! Why do you ponder Ari was into that girl (I forget her name)? Do you consider he is bisexual or was he just bewildered or what? With Dante, it makes it clear that even when he was kissing a girl, he wished he was kissing a boy. But I don't know if that was ever clarified about Ari. I'd love to know how you interpreted that! ooooo i'm not sure; i personally had reflection he might have been bisexual (last time i reread it seemed attractive ambiguous as to giving his sexuality a label). but otherwise i also thought it might include been ari looking to fill the space left by dante in a way. i think that this was around the time dante had settled in after moving and began writing about his own experiences with girls and exploring his have sexuality. i don't really remember if ari responded to all of the letters (at least from what we saw), but maybe ari decided well if dante is growing up and moving on like that, i should too. ari also might own not blatantly stated that he wished he was kissing a boy instead of illeana (i assume that's her name!), but we have to remembe Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, are there many books with such an enchanting title? Then you spot how pretty the cover is, and there’s no choice but to scan. Yet, what I didn’t expect was for it to be just as amazing on the inside as it was on the outside, if not more so. There had been a lot of hype for this book online, and usually I am wary of these books for fear they might be overhyped, but Ari and Dante (as it’s referred to in short) was a welcome surprise. Benjamin Alire Sáenz is not just an writer but also a poet, and in Ari and Dante this shows, with the whole story having a slightly ornate undergo to it. In more than one moment when reading this novel, I set up myself tearing up from all sorts of emotions: happiness, frustration, sadness, or simply tears at the sheer beauty of the scenes portrayed. On one page you’ll find yourself wiping tears from your cheeks, then the next you’ll be grinning from ear to ear. There’s a bit of something for everyone in this and it’s bound to fill your heart with all sorts of feelings. Sáenz explores the theme of Both Dante and Ari are exploring their own sexuality and learning about themselves. They are at distinct stages of their respective journies of self-discovery. Dante knows that he is gay, and has enter to terms with that when we first encounter him. Although there is some deliberation (he thinks he would like kissing boys more than he likes kissing girls) he is at heart certain that he is attracted to men, and that he is gay, and he is actually very comfortable with that. Ari is at a far other stage. Prior to gathering Dante, it would never have occurred to him that he might be gay. The moment he meets Dante he is infatuated, and he later admits that he was in love the moment that he set eyes on him. Ari is in denial about his sexuality. He actively seeks out girls to peck and has a sincere attraction to and obsession on Illeana. He also becomes angry within himself when he realizes that he is in admire with Dante but he doesn't want to accept it. He even rejects Dante's attempts to embrace him, or to find him to feel something when they eventually accomplish kiss. Dante's chief concern is how his parents will react to his coming out, and this is also one of the sub-themes within this theme of sexu .
