Kissing Your Homies Goodnight is game made for NYU Game Center's Major Studio Fall Class. It was created within a week and the prompt for this week was to create a game using only one button

To compete the game all you need is the vacuum bar! You press down to try to intimidate your homie ( and to stop the line on the top exclude from moving) and you let go of the space bar to aim and go in for a smooch! 

All the art and code I did myself. The song I made from using samples from this humble bundle. The sound effects were from NYU Game Center's audio resource folder and from freesound.org. The wrong sfx I got from here and the transition sfx that plays everytime the level restarts is from here.

Last little note I want to add is that the screen looks the way it does because I was mainly testing this out as a mobile game to better understanding how building a game for an android device works, so my apologies if the screen feels a tad weird on webgl.

Kiss Your Homies Goodnight is a catchphrase in which men playfully propose that it's good to kiss their friends goodnight and that it's not a homosexual act. The phrase has been used in many reaction imagememes in which it's suggested to be a very positive and necessary act.

Origin

The first known post to use the phrase "kiss your homies goodnight" was tweeted January 20th, 2017 by user @goodstuffcris using the In This Property format (shown below).

Spread

On September 27th, 2017, Urban Dictionary user gregdan uploaded a definition of the expression to the site (shown below).

Over the following several years, the phrase began seeing use in reaction images and image macros espousing the positivity of kissing homies goodnight. Examples include posts by Instagram user herecomedatboi (shown below, left) and a Sleeping Shaq meme posted in /r/memes by Sl3nderMusic (shown below, right).

Other, more widespread examples include a Tumblr post by positivememes that gained over 3,200 notes (shown below, left). An example posted to the Facebook page Wholesome Memes using a Monsters Inc. reaction image gained over 12,000 reactions (shown belo
