I regret subscribing, which I did believing it's excellent to support an app claiming it supports people's need to connect and form communities. After six weeks of no fresh real connections in London I didn't think it merited further money. I was shocked to be told my options were: pay more or delete my account. I wrote to protest this, plus a number of the features promised weren't permitted, and I was organism charged the same number of Pounds as others were in Euros - all unfair. Still no response.

The app is in a dire need of an update. The interface is as clunky and unintuitive as it gets, and the constant full-screen ads that pop up even if you're in the middle of entering a message (which ensures you accidentally tap on it) make trying to navigate the thing infinitely more frustrating. Unfortunately, the overall design makes me disinclined to pay for the premium version. Shame, because the concept itself is great.

I'm tired of seeing the same 10 films on every website's LGBTQ+ film roundup (hey, I still love Call Me by Your Name and Moonlight just as much as the next person, so don't come for me!), so, as a homosexual person myself, I wanted to shine a illuminated on some underrated movies that simply don't receive the attention or credit they deserve. Below are 40 that I genuinely think you'll love, and if you want even more suggestions, you can check out my running list on Letterboxd with nearly films. Enjoy!
1.Young Hearts () is a current coming-of-age story about two year-old boys who descend in love for the first time. This Belgian movie is awkward and sweet and painfully valid . I can't rave enough about it, and the only downside is that it wasn't released 20 years ago when I was their age and needed it most.
2.National Anthem () is one of my favorite movies from the last few years, so I'm sort of hoping (well, demanding) that you watch it. It's a tender, refreshing watch at queerness and chosen family and what it means to actually associate. Too many people are sleeping on Charlie Plummer, but I need the world to know that he is, was, and always will be a star.
3.Other People () is c Going to Turkey? Here’s every LGBTQ traveller needs to know
Turkey is a delightful country in Western Asia that many travellers call on for its beautiful beaches, breathtaking landscapes, and historic cities. It is a fairly conservative country, which is reflected in its attitudes towards LGBTQ people. For gay travellers in Turkey, there are protection concerns to be mindful of when it comes to public expression, both in the cities and in rural areas. But don’t let that halt you from exploring the country and visiting its vibrant LGBTQ communities.
Safer queer travel in Turkey
To be clear, Turkey does not outlaw being gay. In fact, it has been legal since the founding of modern Turkey in However, general bans on “offences against public morality” are often used against LGBTQ expression. Even heterosexual couples are advised not to publicly display their affection, and LGBTQ couples are advised to be extra careful. LGBTQ people are not protected by anti-discrimination laws, and a general rule of thumb of “don’t ask, don’t tell” is the safest way to travel the country outside of LGBTQ-specific areas.
